Description

CV & Sensor Calibration Engineer Camera Systems, Sensor Fusion & Multi-Camera Platforms Markham, ON | Hybrid (Open to relocation within Canada) Compensation: $170,000-$195,000 CAD + Equity I'm currently partnering with a well funded technology company building advanced computer vision, sensing, and perception systems for robotics, intelligent automation, and AI-driven applications. Following $40M+ in recent funding, the company is scaling rapidly and investing heavily in hardware, perception, data infrastructure, and next-generation sensor platforms. We're looking for a CV & Sensor Calibration Engineer to lead the development, validation, and scaling of camera and sensor calibration systems across a growing hardware fleet. This is a highly autonomous role where you'll work directly with multi-camera systems, IMUs, embedded hardware, and production deployments to ensure data quality, calibration accuracy, and system performance at scale. What You'll Be Doing Lead the development and improvement of camera and sensor calibration processes across a growing hardware platformValidate and refine intrinsic, extrinsic and multi-sensor alignment parametersDesign and maintain calibration tooling, automation, validation workflows, and quality-control processesSupport production, manufacturing, and deployment activities involving camera and sensor systemsWork closely with hardware, embedded, and perception teams to improve performance and reliabilityInvestigate and resolve calibration, synchronization, and data-quality issuesBuild scalable processes that support both factory deployment and field operationDrive improvements in calibration repeatability, robustness, and operational efficiency What They're Looking For Hands-on experience with camera calibration, including intrinsic and extrinsic calibration workflowsExperience working with stereo vision, multi-camera systems, or multi-sensor platformsPractical experience with IMUs, sensor alignment, synchronization, and calibrationUnderstanding of sensor fusion fundamentals and how calibration quality impacts downstream perception systemsExperience building production-grade calibration tooling, infrastructure, or automated validation workflowsStrong problem solving skills and a methodical approach to debugging data quality issuesComfortable working directly with physical hardware, not just software systemsExperience operating in fast-paced engineering environments with significant ownership and autonomyFluent in Mandarin and willingness to work closely with manufacturing teams in China Nice To Have Robotics, autonomous systems, computer vision, AR/VR, automotive perception, industrial automation, or machine vision experienceExperience with OpenCV, Kalibr, ROS, or similar calibration frameworksFactory calibration, manufacturing validation, or production deployment experienceExperience calibrating camera-IMU systems or larger multi-sensor rigsUnderstanding of uncertainty analysis, error modelling, and sensor performance evaluationExperience supporting hardware deployments at scaleExperience collaborating with global manufacturing teams and international production environments If you have a background in camera calibration, sensor fusion, stereo vision, multi-camera systems, robotics or perception engineering, I'd be happy to discuss the opportunity in more detail.
