Job Description We are seeking an experienced IT Engineer for Port and Terminal Infrastructure to join our organization in Kuwait. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining critical IT infrastructure systems that support port and terminal operations. You will work with complex, mission-critical systems in a fast-paced environment where reliability and efficiency are paramount. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and a commitment to operational excellence. Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure systems supporting port and terminal operations, including servers, networks, and storage solutionsMonitor and optimize system performance, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency for all critical infrastructure componentsTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to port operations systems, including SCADA and industrial control systemsImplement and enforce security protocols and cybersecurity measures to protect critical infrastructure from threats and vulnerabilitiesManage network architecture, including configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of networking equipment and systemsCollaborate with terminal operations teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutionsConduct regular system audits and performance analysis to identify areas for improvement and optimizationDocument all infrastructure configurations, procedures, and changes in a clear and organized mannerProvide technical support and guidance to IT staff and end-users on infrastructure-related mattersEvaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance system performance and operational capabilitiesEnsure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for port and terminal operations Qualifications Minimum 12 years of professional experience in IT infrastructure management and system administrationProven experience working with port, terminal, or maritime operations technology systemsStrong knowledge of network administration, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall managementHands-on experience with SCADA systems and industrial control systemsProficiency with virtualization platforms and cloud infrastructure technologiesExperience with system monitoring and management toolsSolid understanding of cybersecurity principles and critical infrastructure protectionKnowledge of database management and backup/disaster recovery solutionsExcellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with strong attention to detailAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environmentStrong organizational and documentation skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesPreferred: Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco certifications, or ITILPreferred: Experience with project management and vendor coordinationPreferred: Familiarity with Gulf region port operations and infrastructure standards
