About the Role:
We are recruiting a talented Senior .Net Engineer on behalf of our client, a leading global food-tech and delivery platform in London.
In this core backend engineering position, you will design, build, and optimize high-throughput, mission-critical microservices and distributed transaction systems supporting millions of real-time orders daily.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect, implement, and maintain resilient backend services and REST/gRPC APIs using modern C# / .NET Core technologies.Design scalable, event-driven distributed architectures capable of handling peak mealtime traffic surges with low latency.Optimize database performance and query efficiency across relational (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB) databases.Champion engineering excellence, writing clean, maintainable, test-driven code (TDD) with comprehensive automated test coverage.Collaborate within cross-functional agile squads with Product Managers, UX Designers, and QA engineers to deliver robust consumer features.Implement modern CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure on AWS/Azure.Participate in architectural design reviews, mentor junior and mid-level software engineers, and conduct rigorous code reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of software engineering experience specializing in C# and .NET Core / .NET 6/7/8 in production environments.Proven expertise in building distributed microservices, asynchronous programming, and message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus).Solid understanding of software design patterns, Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and SOLID principles.Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring tools (Datadog, Prometheus).Strong relational and non-relational database design and query tuning skills.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline.Excellent collaboration and English communication skills.
