Senior AIT On-Board Processor Engineer
Stevenage or Harwell | Hybrid, 4 days onsite
Up to £80,000 + Benefits
Our client is a global leader in the space industry, with more than 55 years of heritage and 450+ missions, specialising in satellite systems, space-based communications, Earth observation and space exploration technologies.
They are looking for a Senior AIT On-Board Processor Engineer to lead the integration, verification and testing of complex On-Board Processor hardware used within advanced satellite payloads.
Key Responsibilities
Lead AIT activities for On-Board Processor hardware and its integration into the wider satellite payload.Perform electrical, functional, performance and interface testing of FPGA-based systems.Develop Python automated test scripts and work with Linux and Windows environments.Support environmental testing including TVAC, vibration, EMC/EMI, acoustics and shock.Specify and maintain EGSE/test equipment, produce test documentation and manage non-conformances.Support technical reviews and mentor junior engineers.
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on FPGA testing experience, with a solid understanding of electronics.
This is essential.4+ years' experience in AIT, verification or systems integration, ideally within the space industry.Knowledge of digital electronics, embedded systems, high-speed interfaces and DSP.Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum/logic analysers and other laboratory test equipment.Experience with Python test automation.Engineering degree or equivalent relevant qualification.
