Product Engineer - Frontend

Reelables make paper-think smart shipping labels that use Bluetooth and 5G to track millions of packages around the world. Those labels generate a lot of data, and we need someone to turn it into software our customers love using. This is a frontend-focused product engineering role. You’ll own the interfaces logistics teams rely on every day: where their shipments are, what’s gone wrong, and what to do about it. We’re about to build the next generation of our customer web apps, so you’ll help shape them from the ground up, including the component library and design system they share. Who we are Reelables is a rapidly scaling tech company based near Angel in North London, developing the world’s most advanced smart shipping labels. Our technology is already changing how companies track and manager shipments globally, and we're still early in that journey. What you’ll do Build great customer-facing product • Own customer-facing features end to end, from understanding the problem through to production and iteration • Turn complex, real-time IoT data into interfaces that are clear, fast and easy to act on • Build features across tracking, alerts and exceptions, ordering, and analytics and reporting • Talk directly with customers to understand their operational pain points and shape the solutions • Shape our next-generation frontend • Help build our new React web apps, which will replace our existing Vue apps • Design and grow the shared component library and design system these apps are built on • Set the patterns for state management, data fetching, testing and performance that the team builds on • Use AI coding tools effectively, and put guardrails in place that keep AI-assisted UI consistent and maintainable Own quality • Write production-ready code with strong testing, accessibility and error handling • Work closely with our platform engineers on the APIs your features depend on, and make pragmatic changes to them when needed (Node.js and TypeScript on AWS) • Ship regularly in a lean team where work reaches production quickly, then iterate based on real usage • Help shape our engineering practices as we grow, and mentor others What we’re looking for Core skills • Strong commercial experience building production web apps with TypeScript and React • Deep understanding of HTML, CSS and browser fundamentals, including accessibility and performance • Experience building or contributing to a component library or design system • Comfort working with APIs and data: you can read an API, shape the data a UI needs, and debug across the boundary • Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD and production monitoring Nice to have • Vue experience (our current apps are built in Vue) • Backend experience with Node.js and AWS serverless • Experience with data visualisation or real-time interfaces • A background in B2B SaaS, logistics, IoT or data-heavy products How you work • You care about the problem, not just the ticket, and enjoy working close to users • You have a strong eye for UI and UX detail • You’re pragmatic, and you know when to polish and when to ship • You communicate clearly with engineers, customers and the wider business • You want real ownership and autonomy in a small team
