Senior DevOps Engineer

Talcom is recruiting a Senior DevOps Engineer for a growing technology company operating in the cybersecurity space. We are looking for an experienced DevOps or Platform Engineer who has worked with complex, enterprise-scale infrastructure and is comfortable taking ownership of cloud environments, deployment processes, reliability and automation. This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on AWS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and cloud-native operations. The Role You will work closely with software engineering and data teams to build, maintain and improve scalable infrastructure and deployment environments. Key responsibilities include: Design, maintain and improve AWS-based infrastructureBuild and optimise CI/CD and GitOps workflowsManage Kubernetes environments and application deploymentsDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as CodeImprove system reliability, scalability and availabilityImplement monitoring, logging and observability solutionsTroubleshoot infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysisSupport deployments across internal and customer environmentsMaintain infrastructure security and cloud IAM standardsSupport compute infrastructure used by engineering and AI/ML workloadsIdentify infrastructure maintenance requirements proactivelyParticipate in an on-call rotation for critical incidents Technical Requirements We are looking for strong hands-on experience with: AWS, particularly EC2, EKS, S3, IAM and VPCKubernetesHelmTerraform or similar Infrastructure as Code toolingCI/CD pipelinesGitLab CI and/or Argo CDGitOps practicesGrafana, Prometheus and/or AWS CloudWatchElasticsearch and/or OpenSearchCloud networking and securityLinux-based infrastructure Experience with the following is highly valuable: Apache Kafka and event-driven architecturesJava, Python or GoAWS cost optimisation / FinOpsLarge-scale or multi-environment deploymentsAI/ML compute infrastructure What We Are Looking For You should be comfortable independently troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and designing solutions that can be maintained and used by multiple engineering teams. Previous experience operating production infrastructure at enterprise scale is particularly important. You should also be comfortable communicating technical decisions, documenting infrastructure clearly and working across engineering teams. Location The role is based in Amsterdam and follows a hybrid working model, with approximately 2–3 days per week in the office.
