about the role About Us Forsyth Barnes have partnered with a fast-growing Nottingham-based eCommerce healthcare business built on a simple idea: healthcare should feel personal, accessible, and human. They combine online consultations with discreet home delivery and clinician-led support, helping over 100,000 patients across the UK. As the business scales, they are now strengthening their engineering function to improve how their core platform is built, extended, and evolved. Job Description This is an engineering role focused on building, improving, and extending the core platform. You will work closely with the founders and Technical Lead to take ownership of key areas of the product from WordPress/WooCommerce development through to custom integrations, APIs, and performance optimisation. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain WordPress / WooCommerce-based eCommerce systemsDevelop custom plugins, themes, and backend functionality (PHP/Laravel)Design and integrate APIs and third-party systemsWork across the full stack (PHP + JavaScript)Improve platform performance, stability, and scalability Requirements Strong commercial experience with PHP development/LaravelProven experience with WordPress and/or WooCommerceExperience building custom plugins or themesStrong understanding of JavaScript (vanilla, React or Vue preferred)Experience with APIs and third-party integrationsComfortable working in fast-moving, product-focused environments Benefits Salary of £50,000 to £55,000.
