Senior Software Engineer

CJ Express Group is one of Thailand’s leading convenience store operators. Our Technology Innovation Lab & Decision Intelligence (TILDI) team is building an AI-powered platform for retail operations at scale across Southeast Asia. We use a lean, AI-assisted development methodology where a small team of senior professionals delivers what traditionally requires a much larger team. The Role: You own features end-to-end — from understanding the business problem and designing the user experience, to planning implementation, reviewing AI-generated output, integrating backend services, and deploying to production. You will primarily build web applications with Go and Nextjs/ Svelte, while also working across data and AI-powered workflows. You spend more time on architecture, planning, problem-solving, create agents/ skills for web application best practice and reviewing AI-assisted implementation than simply writing code. What You Will Do: Own features end-to-end across website, backend, and data layersBuild production web applications using Nextjs and GolangDesign scalable architecture including state management, navigation, networking, local storage and API servicesWrite technical plans that translate business requirements into clear and precise implementation specificationsDesign and maintain distributed systems and event-driven architecturesWork with event streaming and asynchronous processingIntegrate REST APIs, backend services, and real-time data into web applications or system to systemIntegrate AI/ML capabilities into production workflowsDesign database schema with SQL and NoSQLTest on unit test, integration test and E2E test in real operational environmentsImprove web and backend performance, reliability, observability, and scalabilityReview AI-generated code and architecture to ensure correctness, maintainability, security, and qualityDocument reusable patterns, architecture decisions, and engineering insights that improve future development What You Bring: 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong experience building production applicationsStrong web application experience, including shipping applications to productionStrong design frontend component, micro frontend and handle stateStrong design APIs endpoint service and distributed backend systemsStrong code architecture patterns such as Clean Architecture, or similarStrong software design principlesProduction experience at scale — you have shipped features used by real usersAI-assisted development fluency using tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or similarEvent-driven architecture experienceDatabase proficiency with PostgreSQL, Redis, and SQLiteExperience with automated testing, including unit, integration, API, and UI testingUnderstanding of mobile CI/CD, versioning, microservice deployment, dockerQuality-first mindset with strong ownership of reliability, maintainability, performance, and user experience Nice to Have: Experience with gRPC and Protocol BuffersExperience with Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, or similar event streaming technologiesExperience with Firebase or mobile observability platformsComputer vision or machine learning experienceExperience integrating AI capabilities into mobile applicationsExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platformsRetail or operations domain backgroundThai language ability Why Join: Own complete features, not just ticketsBuild products that connect Web, Go, data, and AIWork with a modern AI-assisted development workflowSolve real operational problems used across CJ Express businessesWork in a small, senior engineering team where your contribution is visibleInfluence engineering architecture, standards, and development practices from an early stage
