QA Engineer

We're looking for a Mid to Senior QA Engineer to take full ownership of quality across our engineering team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll define the QA strategy, establish testing processes, build the automation foundation, and have direct accountability for the quality of our platforms used daily by thousands of end users across multiple user roles. If you've built a QA process, framework, automation suite, or team from the ground up before, this is exactly the role for you. You'll work closely with developers, product managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to identify quality risks early, improve testing practices, and ensure reliable, high-quality releases. What You'll Own Analyze business and functional requirements for completeness, identify gaps and ambiguities, and derive comprehensive test scenarios and cases.Define and maintain master test plans outlining the overall testing strategy, scope, approach, priorities, timelines, and risks.Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases, test scripts, and scenarios based on business and technical requirements.Perform manual and automated testing to validate application functionality, usability, reliability, integration, regression, and end-to-end workflows.Design, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks, prioritizing critical business workflows and high-risk regression scenarios.Establish automation standards, reusable test components, test data strategies, and maintainable test suites across projects.Identify, document, prioritize, track, and manage defects throughout their lifecycle while collaborating with development teams for timely resolution.Perform API testing to validate functionality, authentication, authorization, error handling, integrations, and data integrity.Perform database and backend validation using SQL queries to verify data accuracy, consistency, and end-to-end data flows.Plan and execute performance, load, and stress testing where required to validate system scalability, reliability, and responsiveness.Work closely with developers, product managers, business analysts, architects, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.Mentor QA engineers establish testing best practices, and contribute to building and scaling the QA team. What We're Looking For 4+ years of experience in software QA/testing, with at least 1+ years of experience owning QA strategy, processes, automation initiatives, or leading QA activities.Hands-on experience designing and building test automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or equivalent technologies.Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, risk-based testing, and quality engineering practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, isolate, troubleshoot, and communicate defects effectively.Comfortable defining processes and making decisions in a build-and-improve environment.Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality software.ISTQB certification or equivalent practical experience is a plus. Core Technical Skills Manual Testing: Designing and executing test cases, including functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, usability, and end-to-end testing.Test Automation: Experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar automation frameworks.API Testing: Using Postman or Swagger or JmeterTest Management: Hands-on experience with tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, HP ALM, or equivalent test management platforms.SQL & Databases: Writing SQL queries for data validation, backend testing, data integrity, and consistency verification.
