Senior Software Engineer

VALE Partners have been engaged by an Australian SaaS startup to help further establish their software engineering presence in Brisbane. After spending the past several years defining and refining their product-market fit, the business has now reached a new inflection point in growth and is looking to grow the team. This is a senior individual contributor role split between hands-on development and engineering process. In addition to shipping features, you'll also be helping the team build lasting practices around agent driven software engineering. Role Overview Own delivery of features across a .NET backend and React frontend, from scoping through to production release and support.Partner with Product and Design to shape solutions and validate technical feasibility before work begins.Convert promising AI-assisted development experiments into secure, repeatable team practices.Contribute to the ongoing improvement of software engineering culture and standards. What You'll Ideally Have Experience working in a full stack capacity across .NET APIs and TypeScript within a SaaS or product led environment.Practical familiarity with concepts like adversarial reviews, self-refinement and actor-critic splits in the context of software engineering agents.Comfort navigating integration heavy systems and getting productive quickly in an existing codebase.A collaborative approach to working and strong opinions about software engineering that you're interested in challenging and changing.
