Full Stack Software Engineer - Platforms and Integrations

About the role Joining as our second Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a small and growing tech team. You’ll work closely with our other Software Engineer and Tech Manager to expand our recently rebuilt internal platforms, influence technical decisions and help shape the next stage of our technology journey. This is a hands-on role where your work will have an immediate and visible impact. You’ll deliver the technology our teams rely on each day, maintain and improve our internal platforms, and release updates to our client-facing applications. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, adapts quickly and feels comfortable working across different codebases. You’ll see the direct impact of your work across TRP and the communities we support. What you’ll be working with Our platforms span three main codebases, and you'll work across all of them: Client-facing applications - Next.js and React front ends, backed by AWS Amplify (AppSync GraphQL, DynamoDB, Cognito, Lambda) and Craft CMS for content.Internal platforms - a TypeScript monorepo (Next.js, React, Tailwind, Prisma, PostgreSQL) hosted on Vercel, with AWS infrastructure managed as code via CDK.Integration layer - Node and PHP services on AWS Lambda connecting our CRM, accounting, fulfilment and scheduling systems. What will you be doing? Business-Critical Initiatives - Deliver features across our internal and external applications that support key business projects, to fixed deadlines. Platform Development - Build and enhance new features and maintain existing features across our client-facing applications and internal platforms. Integration & Backend Work - Improve and modernise our integration layer. Connect systems, build APIs and GraphQL schemas, and make sure data flows reliably between platforms. Infrastructure & DevOps - Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure across Amplify, Lambda, ECS and RDS. Handle deployments and general platform maintenance. Team Support - Provide technical support for the broader team across all systems and processes. Legacy Modernisation - Help improve or migrate older systems, reducing technical debt and moving towards more maintainable, modern solutions. Our ideal candidate will also have: 5+ years of professional software engineer experience, comfortable working across the stackStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomouslyExcellent communication skills - able to translate technical concepts into plain languageComfort moving between codebases of different ages, conventions and qualityAn ability to juggle multiple competing priorities - triaging incoming work, context-switching, or proactively flagging when priorities need to change.Strong experience with React, Next.js and TypeScriptExperience with AI Coding tools and agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar) as a core part of your development workflowSolid understanding of APIs, webhooks, and integration patterns, including GraphQL as a consumerGood understanding of security best practices. Nice to have: CRM and account systems integrations (Zoho and Xero preferred; Salesforce, Hubspot or Dynamics also relevant)Data migrations between business systems, and the reconciliation work that comes with themA headless or traditional CMS (Craft CMS in particular)Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), CI/CD pipelines and deployment processesBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
