Senior Frontend Engineer Groenlo, Netherlands 32 - 38 hrs € 4.500 - € 6.000 Hybrid What are you going to do? Within Nedap, the Unify Framework team builds shared frontend foundations used across the Ons® Suite and increasingly across Nedap. We develop and maintain our design system, component library, design tokens, frontend platform capabilities, and supporting tooling. As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will help shape these foundations for the long term. You combine deep frontend expertise with architectural thinking, looking beyond individual requests to understand the underlying problem and make choices that work at scale. You will design and evolve frontend infrastructure used by multiple development teams. You make deliberate architectural choices, create stable APIs, and improve existing systems without disrupting the teams that depend on them. This is also a hands-on engineering role. You will work closely with other engineers and UX, contribute to technical direction and architecture decisions, and improve areas such as browser behavior, JavaScript, performance, accessibility, API design, and maintainability. Start your application Your responsibilities Our work sits at the intersection of frontend architecture, platform engineering and developer experience. Typical challenges include: Strong frontend fundamentals, including JavaScript, browser behavior, and web standards. Senior-level experience with frontend architecture and platform development, with the ability to connect long-term technical direction to implementation. Experience designing and evolving APIs and contracts, with a strong understanding of consumers, backwards compatibility, and long-term maintainability. The ability to make deliberate technical trade-offs while maintaining a high standard of implementation quality. Comfortable working and collaborating in English; Dutch is a plus. Experience with design systems, component libraries, frontend platforms, or software used by multiple teams or products is valuable. Familiarity with Web Components, Lit, TypeScript, Vue, Vite, Storybook, design tokens and theming, open-source or shared contribution models, and CI/CD, release processes, and versioning is a plus. Your team You will join a senior, multidisciplinary team that works closely together on complex, long-term challenges. Pair programming is an important part of how we work: we combine perspectives, challenge decisions early, and improve ideas together. As a team, you determine the main goals and themes. Within those themes, you have the autonomy to identify problems, shape the work, and decide how to move it forward. This requires you to be comfortable with ambiguity and open collaboration rather than fully specified tasks. We work hybrid, with regular time together in Groenlo. AI-assisted development is part of our day-to-day workflow, supporting implementation, testing, and exploration while technical judgment remains with the team. Our offer What's in it for you? The salary range for this role is between € 4.500 and € 6.000 gross per month based on full-time employment (38 hours) and depends on relevant knowledge and experience. We care more about your understanding of the web platform and your ability to reason about long-term product quality than whether you already know our exact technology stack. Accessibility is a fundamental part of frontend quality for us. You do not need to be an accessibility specialist, but we do expect you to take it seriously and be willing to develop your knowledge further. Good to know: You are available for 32–38 hours per week. Hybrid (remote) working is common practice at Nedap, and you will coordinate your working hours with your team to ensure a good work-life balance.
