Frontend Developer

Apata is a fintech company building a new generation of flexible fraud-prevention solutions for card issuers. Our platform authenticates more than 30 million e-commerce transactions a month for cardholders worldwide, and is trusted by around 100 financial institutions globally. We're growing fast, and the frontend is central to how issuers and merchants experience what we do - so this is a great time to join a small, experienced team where your work ships and matters. What you'll work on Our customers configure every part of the cardholder experience - the flow each cardholder moves through at transaction time - through the UI our team builds. The frontend isn't the transaction engine, but it's the surface that decides how those millions of transactions behave. You'll work across three frontend surfaces: A merchant-facing single-page app - React on Vite, TypeScript throughout, part of a pnpm/Turborepo monorepo, talking to a backend-for-frontend (BFF).A Next.js application - TypeScript, tRPC, and TanStack Query.Our public marketing website - the front door for prospective customers.The two product apps are TypeScript-first and share tooling and patterns across the monorepo. You'll get exposure across all three, and to a range of frontend work as you grow with the team. What you'll do Build and ship frontend features - writing reliable, reusable, well-tested code.Take part in code reviews and technical discussions, and grow your skills with support from the senior engineers on the team.Work with backend and platform engineers on the APIs your features rely on.Work closely with design to turn wireframes and mock-ups into high-quality components.Care about the performance, quality, and responsiveness of what you build.Contribute to technical design discussions for the features you work on. What we're looking for 4+ years of professional frontend experience, comfortable working independently on well-scoped features.Solid, hands-on experience building with React and TypeScript - the core of both products.A good command of modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.Experience with single-page apps, and either exposure to or genuine eagerness to learn server-rendered / Next.js-style applications.Comfort with build tooling (Vite and similar) and browser debugging.Good testing habits - writing unit and component tests for your work.A good understanding of how frontend work gets built and shipped.A collaborative approach and real eagerness to grow - you take ownership of your work, ask good questions, and level up with the team. Nice to have Monorepo tooling (Turborepo, pnpm).Experience with BFF / API layers, or with tRPC.Domain exposure to payments, 3DS, or fintech more broadly.
