If you like what we’re saying, keep reading!  WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US We are looking for an experienced Lead/Principal Cloud Engineer to join the Data Platform Teams to act as the go-to CI/CD expert supporting our existing flows and teams and to lead the design of secure multi-tenant cloud infrastructure for future initiatives. You'll set technical direction and shared standards for CI/CD and cloud practices used across multiple teams, build the pipelines, automation, and infrastructure-as-code that let teams ship safely and consistently, and mentor engineers along the way. You will be working in an agile environment with two teams and collaborating closely with architects and product management. What You Will Be Responsible For Act as the go-to CI/CD specialist - designing, implementing and maintaining the CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions) and deployment automation (Octopus Deployment) Implement and maintain observability solutions (logging, metrics, alerting, dashboards) and support SOC2-aligned, SLA-driven production operations Set technical direction and define shared CI/CD and cloud standards adopted across multiple data platform teams and mentor engineers Lead the design and implementation of secure, multi-tenant cloud environments on Azure including customer data segregation and the technical layer of the platform's governance model (access packages, role-based enforcement) Use Terraform (and Bicep/ARM templates where relevant) for secure, repeatable infrastructure provisioning, and build/maintain Kubernetes environments for fast, safe, and repeatable deployments Write and maintain automation scripts and tooling (e.g. Python, PowerShell, C#) to reduce manual work and streamline build, test, release, and deployment processes Identify and resolve CI/CD, deployment, and infrastructure issues across development, test, and production environments while collaborating with data platform and development teams to improve pipeline reliability, delivery, and operational readinessParticipate in architecture discussions and decisions (cloud design patterns, cost optimization, security posture), and directly identify and resolve delivery bottlenecksContribute to documentation, runbooks, and knowledge sharing across teams Key Skills And Requirements The ideal candidate has several years of experience in (Finance)-related cloud engineering, DevOps, CI/CD, platform engineering, or data platform delivery environments, and is equally comfortable designing cloud infrastructure as running application delivery and automation - with a practical mindset focused on reducing manual steps and making delivery workflows easier for engineers to use and maintain. Essential Technical Skills: Practical experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation, along with expertise in Azure DevOps (required), GitHub Actions, or Octopus Deploy-based release workflowsExperience designing and implementing multi-tenant customer data segregation, with clear separation between security controls and operational access, including the technical layer of a governance model (access packages, role-based enforcement) Terraform experience for Infrastructure as Code (Bicep/ARM a plus) Solid practical experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services, including networking, security, and identity/access managementCoding ability in at least one language (e.g. C#, Python, PowerShell), with solid software engineering practices — testing, version control, code review, branching, build/release/deploymentUnderstanding of containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes/AKS), and monitoring/observability tools (e.g. Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Grafana) Advanced troubleshooting skills across development, test, and production environments, comfortable in Linux and Windows server environmentsSolid problem-solving and communication skills — able to work well with engineering teams and explain technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike Desirable Python and SQL scripting experience in data platform or data engineering contexts, with familiarity with data pipelines, orchestration, and processing workflowsExperience improving developer feedback cycles and building reusable automation and self-service workflows for engineers Finance or risk business knowledge Genuine interest in AI, with practical experience using AI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot) to speed up pipeline development and engineering workflows What We Value Ownership & continuous improvement - you take end-to-end responsibility for what you build and constantly look to automate, simplify, and reduce operational burden Collaboration - you work closely with developers, platform engineers, and data engineers rather than in isolation Curiosity & pragmatism - you stay current with cloud and DevOps trends while balancing best practice with delivering real business value Clear communication - you document what you build and explain your reasoning to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike Benefits SimCorp provides a range of benefits that may influence decisions regarding job offers.
