We are the first (and only) venture capital-backed AI music startup in Canada. Our team is growing, and this is where you come in. The Role We are looking for a Full Stack Developer (Typescript, React, Node.js, and C++) to rapidly develop our desktop application, which brings our generative ML music technology to producers. You will be the fourth member of the core tech team and will be responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. You'll report directly to our Co-Founder and play a key role in leading the tech team as it grows, including mentoring developers, reviewing code, and helping set technical direction. Duties and Responsibilities Develop the front-end functionality of our customer-facing website and desktop application using React and Node.jsDesign and implement server-side architecture of the applications and public APIs (including data storage), ensuring they scale to large amounts of traffic and dataImplement best practices to ensure applications work across operating systems and browsers and can be efficiently tested and debuggedWrite clean, extensible, and reusable UI componentsWork closely with the product team to implement innovative solutions and user-friendly productsImplement security measures to protect user data and prevent unauthorized access or data breachesHelp manage and mentor the development team, including code reviews, task planning, and setting coding standardsWork with our co-founder on technical decisions and team priorities as we scale Qualifications Must Haves 3+ years of industry experience in full-stack developmentAbility to work remotelyCompetence in Typescript, React, HTML, CSS (including Tailwind), Node.js, C++ and JavaScriptProven ability to ship and maintain scalable productsSelf-motivation and a drive to problem-solveStrong work ethicAdaptability in rapidly evolving environments Nice to Haves Knowledge of Next.js, Python, Firestore, and PostgresInterest in and knowledge of music (a huge asset) - especially digital music (DAWs, MIDI, VSTs, etc.)Experience and interest in artificial intelligenceExperience working in a startupExperience leading, mentoring, or managing developersPost-secondary degree in computer science or related field What We Provide Competitive annual salaryFour weeks of paid vacation (accrued)A $500 annual music allowance benefit (see concerts, buy a guitar… whatever fuels your passion for music)As an early team member at Staccato, you'll play a pivotal role in changing the future of music production Working conditions Remote (quiet home office setup and stable internet required)Eastern Time working hours (with some flexibility)One monthly in-person work day in Hamilton (travel expenses covered; candidates should live within a 2-hour commute) Please note that this position is only open to those legally eligible to work in Canada.
