About The Role We are seeking experienced Senior and Staff Backend Engineers to join our core engineering team at GrabJobs. This pivotal role involves designing, developing, and scaling our backend systems and developer infrastructure to support our rapidly growing platform. As a key contributor, you will have the opportunity to influence the technical direction of GrabJobs, working closely with cross-functional teams and engaging directly with our developer community. Your work will be central to enhancing our API offerings, building robust developer tools, and ensuring our platform remains scalable, reliable, and developer-friendly. This role offers the chance to work in a remote environment across North America, LATAM, or Europe, with a focus on creating impactful solutions that improve the experience for millions of users worldwide. Qualifications 5+ years (for senior-level) or 10+ years (for staff-level) of proven backend engineering experience, particularly in high-traffic, scalable systems.Deep expertise in developer infrastructure, APIs, databases, and performance optimization.Strong proficiency with Node.js and modern backend stacks.Passion for developer tools, best practices, and delivering excellent developer experiences.Excellent communication skills, proactive approach, and reliability in a remote-first environment.Product-oriented mindset with a focus on developer empathy and usability.Pragmatic, positive attitude with a low-ego approach, capable of stepping up during incidents and assisting teammates.Autonomous, ownership-driven, and comfortable navigating ambiguity typical of startup environments.Based in North America, LATAM, or Europe, with the ability to collaborate across time zones effectively. Responsibilities Design, develop, and scale backend systems, APIs, and services to support our open-source platform and internal products.Create world-class developer interfaces, including APIs, SDKs, UIs, and runtime environments that enhance developer experience.Collaborate directly with customers and partners to understand integration challenges and deliver tailored solutions.Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability to handle increasing user demand and data volume.Shape the product roadmap and technical strategy, taking ownership of key decisions and project execution.Engage with the open-source community by maintaining repositories, addressing issues, and contributing to project growth.Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment to ensure robust and maintainable systems.Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative, innovative engineering culture.
