Job Description We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical DevOps Engineer specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our nearshore team in Lisboa, Portugal. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions that support our organization's mission-critical applications. You will work collaboratively with development and operations teams to ensure efficient, secure, and scalable cloud environments while optimizing deployment processes and system reliability. Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and networking servicesDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform to ensure consistent and reproducible environmentsBuild and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build and other automation tools to streamline application deployment processesImplement containerization strategies using Docker and Kubernetes to enhance application scalability and portabilityMonitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure and application performance issues with a focus on minimizing downtimeEstablish and maintain comprehensive logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure system health and visibilityCollaborate with development teams to optimize application deployment strategies and cloud resource utilizationImplement security best practices and compliance standards across cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelinesDocument infrastructure configurations, processes, and runbooks to support team knowledge sharing and operational efficiencyParticipate in on-call rotation to provide timely incident response and resolution support Qualifications 3+ years of professional experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or systems administration rolesAdvanced proficiency with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and architectureStrong expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly TerraformHands-on experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and KubernetesDemonstrated experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and automation workflowsSolid understanding of Linux/Unix system administration and command-line toolsExperience with monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, ELK stack)Knowledge of cloud security best practices, identity management, and compliance frameworksStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues systematicallyExcellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teamsExperience with version control systems, particularly GitFamiliarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or GoPreferred: Experience with multi-cloud environments or hybrid cloud architecturesPreferred: Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and agile practicesPreferred: Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Data Engineer) Additional Information The Devoteam Group works for equal opportunities, promoting its employees based on merit and actively fights against all forms of discrimination.
