Software Engineer - Robot Fleet Platform

About the role:We're seeking a Software Engineer to join our team and help build Gideon's complete fleet software stack - from the web application our operators use every day, through the APIs and integrations that connect us to customer systems, down to the orchestration engines that boot, coordinate, and update our autonomous robots. You'll move fluidly between the browser, the server, and the robot - owning features end to end. You don't need to be an expert in every layer on day one; we're looking for strength in at least one area (backend, frontend or robotics/orchestration) and genuine appetite to grow into the others. Responsibilities we’ll trust you with:design, build, and maintain our robot-management web application - a responsive, intuitive interface for controlling and monitoring single robots and full fleets (maps, missions, system monitoring)develop and maintain the Python backend and APIs behind our Fleet Management and Robot Interface applications, including data modeling across relational and document databasesbuild integrations with customer systems (WMS, PLCs, site IT infrastructure) and handle communication between the cloud/Fleet Management layer and robots in the fieldcontribute to Gideon's autonomy orchestration layer - components that boot, coordinate, and update our robot software stacks (Swarm Engine, Stack Manager/OTA, shared libraries)write clean, tested, reviewable code; take part in code reviews; help improve observability and CI/CDtroubleshoot issues end to end - from a symptom in the UI to a root cause in an orchestration enginetravel - there are opportunities to visit our deployment sites in USA and Canada Our Tech Stack:backend: Python, REST APIs (Flask, FastAPI)databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDBfrontend: Angular, JavaScript/TypeScriptrobotics & orchestration: Python, ROS, Docker Compose, containerized robot stacks, OTA/update systemstools & platforms: Linux, Docker, Git Your area of expertise: 2+ years of experience with Python and/or modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworksEducation: BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Informatics, Mathematics, or a related field solid software engineering fundamentals - data structures, algorithms, software designfamiliarity with relational and/or document databasescomfort working in Linux, Docker and Gitability to reason about a distributed system spanning browser, server, and robotproficiency using AI-assisted development tools, with a willingness to keep learning new onesexcellent communication skills in English and a drive for innovation Bonus points: experience with GitLab CI/CD and ROSrobotics, AMRs/AGVs, warehouses, WMS/WES, or similar industry experiencefamiliarity with other programming languages such as C/C++, Go, or Rust and real-time data processingexperience with event-driven systems, schedulers, state machines, or workflow enginesfamiliarity with Docker Compose deployments, OTA updates, or edge-device operationsexperience with simulators, hardware-in-the-loop testing, or real robotic hardware If this sounds interesting, feel free to read more about the position, our benefits and the selection process on: https://erp.gideon.ai/jobs/software-engineer-robot-fleet-platform-croatia-471
