Senior Python Backend Developer

The best idea wins, whoever proposes it. 🚀 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲 We're looking for a Senior Python Developer to take ownership of core parts of our backend. You'll design services from the ground up, make architecture decisions, and deliver features end to end with product and frontend colleagues. You'll get context, not just tickets: you'll know why we're building something, decide how it gets built, and see the impact directly. 🛠 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂'𝗹𝗹 𝗗𝗼 - Own the design, development, and operation of backend services and APIs in Python - Turn product requirements into sound technical designs, realistic plans, and trade-off decisions - Lead architecture discussions and help define our engineering standards and best practices - Design database schemas and optimize queries and indexes for growing datasets in PostgreSQL - Build and scale background jobs, data pipelines, and automation workflows (Celery, message brokers, asyncio) - Integrate third-party services, payment providers, external APIs, and LLM-based features - Keep production systems performant, secure, and observable, and lead root-cause analysis when things break - Review code and mentor colleagues through thoughtful, constructive feedback - Document systems and decisions so knowledge is shared across the team 🎯 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿 - 5+ years of professional experience building and running production systems in Python - Deep, hands-on expertise with Django or FastAPI (Flask is a plus) - Strong PostgreSQL and SQL skills, including query optimization, indexing, and schema design at scale - Proven experience designing and maintaining REST APIs used by real products - Solid experience with asynchronous processing: asyncio, Celery, or message queues - Production experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and at least one major cloud platform (AWS or GCP) - Strong testing discipline with pytest, type checking, and linting - A track record of owning services end to end, from design through deployment, monitoring, and incident handling - Sound system design skills and the judgment to choose simple solutions over clever ones - Clear written and spoken English and a self-directed working style in a remote team ✨ 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 - Experience building LLM integrations, RAG pipelines, or working with vector databases - Experience with Redis, caching strategies, and high-throughput systems - Solid knowledge of web application security (OWASP, auth, secrets management) - Experience with large datasets and data processing pipelines - Basic frontend skills (JavaScript/TypeScript, React) - Background in startups or small product teams - Experience mentoring developers or acting as technical lead on a project 💻 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸 - Languages: Python, SQL, some TypeScript - Frameworks: Django, FastAPI, Flask - Data: PostgreSQL, Redis - Async: asyncio, Celery, message brokers - Infrastructure: Docker, AWS/GCP, CI/CD - Tooling: pytest, type checking, monitoring and logging - AI: LLM APIs and integrations 🌍 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗪𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 We're fully remote and focus on results, not hours online.
