The Opportunity We're seeking a Software Engineer to join a growing team, working on-site within a secure environment in either Melbourne (Scoresby) or Canberra. You'll contribute across the full software delivery lifecycle-design, development, testing, integration and deployment-working closely with engineers, architects, BAs and customer stakeholders to deliver robust, secure, maintainable solutions. Key Responsibilities Design and develop innovative software solutions to complex problemsContribute to (and at times lead) Agile story definition and estimationBuild and maintain unit/integration tests and contribute to test automationSupport CI and automation practicesIntegrate and deploy systems using SecDevOps approachesContribute to web UI development and UX evolutionInvestigate defects, perform root-cause analysis, and implement fixesProduce and maintain clear technical documentationCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams and customer stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes About You (Skills & Experience) Essential: Experience working in Agile delivery environmentsStrong software engineering fundamentals (clean code, secure development, coding standards)Strong quality mindset with sound testing principlesConfident communicator (written and verbal) with strong teamwork capabilityAbility to analyse problems and deliver practical, maintainable solutionsComfortable switching between tasks based on delivery prioritiesNice to have (but not essential): Full-stack exposure (React / Angular / .NET / Java)Systems integration using REST APIs, JSON, XML and integration patternsOpen-source ecosystem exposure (NiFi, Kafka, Elastic/ELK, Solr)CI/CD tooling and IaC (e.g., Ansible, GitLab, Git)Containers (Docker / Kubernetes)Jira / ConfluenceLinux and/or Windows environments Security & Eligibility (Mandatory) Australian Citizen onlyActive TSPV clearance required (must already be current)Applicants may also need to meet ITAR requirements.
