Overview We are seeking a Software Engineer to develop and maintain desktop applications for a client that specializes in advanced semiconductor solutions. This role focuses on Python-based desktop application development, database integration, and the development of user-friendly software tools for engineering and technical teams. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain Python-based desktop applications for engineering and testing environments.Develop graphical user interfaces (GUI) to support data management, system configuration, and test result visualization.Design and implement database solutions using MySQL for efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing.Develop automated tools and scripts to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting workflows.Collaborate with engineering teams to understand technical requirements and translate them into functional software solutions.Troubleshoot application issues, optimize system performance, and enhance existing software functionalities.Prepare and maintain software design specifications, technical documentation, and user guides. Requirements Minimum 5 years of relevant software development experience with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.Strong hands-on programming experience in Python.Proficiency in MySQL, including database integration, SQL queries, and data management.Experience developing desktop applications with graphical user interfaces (GUI).Hands-on experience with PyQt or PySide is highly preferred.Experience with C/C++ will be an added advantage.Familiarity with automated testing, data acquisition, or engineering software applications is advantageous.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
