Senior Product Engineer – TypeScript/React/Node/AI Brisbane | Hybrid | $150k–$180k + super I’m working with a growing Brisbane-based software company looking for a Senior Product Engineer to join a small, experienced engineering team. This is a hands-on IC role for someone who enjoys being given a problem rather than a fully written ticket. You’ll work closely with engineering and product to understand what needs solving, explore different approaches and then own the solution through to production. They’re looking for someone comfortable making decisions, challenging requirements and getting things moving without needing everything mapped out for them. The environment is heavily AI-enabled. AI tooling is already embedded throughout the engineering workflow across development, investigation, prototyping, testing and review. They’re particularly interested in engineers who have moved beyond basic Copilot usage and are already using tools such as Claude Code, coding agents and MCP as a genuine part of how they build software. The core stack includes: TypeScript, React and React NativeNode.js and GraphQLAWSMySQLClaude Code/coding agents/MCP toolingModern testing and automated development workflows You don’t need to have worked with every technology listed. More important is being a strong product-minded engineer who can work across the stack, deal with ambiguity and take genuine ownership of problems. You’ll likely suit this if you’ve worked in a startup, scale-up or autonomous product team where engineers are expected to contribute to product and UX decisions rather than simply implement requirements. There’s no people management attached to the role. It’s designed for an experienced engineer who wants to remain hands-on, work closely with a strong technical team and have a lot of influence over what gets built and how. Brisbane-based with a flexible hybrid setup, typically 2–3 days per week with the team.
