🚀 We’re hiring: Senior AI Engineer / Senior Software Engineer – Enterprise AI | Banking & Financial Services
📍 Sydney-based | 3 days on-site required
Maltem Australia is looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join a leading Australian financial services organisation and help deliver its ambitious AI-first strategy.
You’ll join an Enterprise AI Enablement team building AI-native solutions designed to improve customer experiences and empower internal teams through practical, production-ready AI.
This is an applied AI engineering role, rather than model research.
You’ll work closely with product managers and data scientists to design, build and operate the systems powering a growing agentic AI ecosystem.
What you’ll be working on:
• Production-grade agentic AI orchestration systems
• RAG-based solutions and data stores
• LLM and Gemini API integrations
• Agents, MCP servers, connectors and CLIs
• Prompt and context engineering
• CI/CD, containerised deployments and LLMOps
• End-to-end ownership across architecture, development, testing and production
What we’re looking for:
• 7+ years’ software engineering experience within Agile / DevOps environments
• Strong Python experience, with TypeScript exposure highly regarded
• Experience building scalable, production-grade backend systems
• Experience across the full SDLC, including design, build, test and production support
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes and cloud environments
• Exposure to RAG, MCP, Vertex AI, Google ADK, LangChain, LangGraph or LlamaIndex
• Understanding of LLMOps practices across experimentation, deployment and monitoring
You’ll be working at the forefront of enterprise GenAI adoption, helping deliver both customer-facing AI products and internal productivity solutions.
