Senior Web Designer & Front-End Developer / Project Lead

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior WordPress / Elementor Designer & Developer role based in Toronto, ON. The role involves designing and building responsive WordPress websites using Elementor, customizing themes and templates, and ensuring consistent brand alignment across all pages. The individual will optimize site performance, manage plugins, troubleshoot technical issues, and perform regular updates and maintenance. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with marketing and content teams, translating design mockups into functional web pages, implementing on-page SEO best practices, and testing sites across browsers and devices to ensure usability and accessibility. The role also requires maintaining clear documentation, contributing to process improvements, and delivering high-quality work within project timelines. Qualifications Strong proficiency in WordPress, Elementor, and modern theme customization, including experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.Solid front-end development skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with the ability to translate UI/UX designs into pixel-accurate, functional layouts.Experience with website performance optimization, caching, image optimization, and basic security hardening for WordPress sites.Knowledge of on-page SEO best practices, including structured content, metadata, and site architecture that supports digital marketing goals.Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar) and the ability to collaborate closely with designers and content specialists.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a track record of managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Relevant experience in a similar senior web design/development role; post-secondary education in web development, design, computer science, or a related field is an asset.
