Software Engineer

ABOUT UNIVERCELL UniverCell is a Canadian electronics repair and certified pre owned device retailer with 18+ locations across Ontario, Manitoba and Quebec. We are an Apple Independent Repair Provider and we are growing through franchising. Our head office in Toronto builds and runs the software behind our stores, online sales and franchise network. THE ROLE You will be working directly with the leadership team. You will own the internal systems that run our retail and online operations, improve what already exists, and build what comes next. This is a hands on role with real ownership from day one. WHAT YOU WILL DO Build and maintain internal web applications and backend servicesBring engineering discipline to our codebase: testing, CI and reliable deploymentsIntegrate with third party platforms such as payments, e commerce and supplier systemsWork with store teams and franchise partners to roll out and support the tools you buildMake pragmatic calls about what to fix, rewrite or leave alone WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 2+ years building and shipping production web applicationsStrong TypeScript and React (Next.js preferred) and comfortable in PythonExperience with Postgres or a similar relational databaseComfortable owning a system end to end in a small teamBonus: retail, point of sale, payments, inventory or marketplace experience WHAT WE OFFER Competitive salary Real ownership: your work goes live across all our storesDirect access to the founder and leadership team
