Senior Backend Engineer – Java & Distributed Systems Location: Poland – [Fully Remote] Contract: [B2B / employment contract] RE Partners is hiring a Senior Java Software Engineer for a long-term technology programme with a leading global bank. The role focuses on high-throughput Java services, concurrency, messaging and production performance. Banking experience is not required; relevant experience may come from any complex, data-intensive environment. The role Develop scalable Java backend servicesSolve concurrency and multithreading challengesBuild event-driven solutions using Kafka or similar technologiesImprove application performance, resilience and throughputTroubleshoot JVM and production issuesContribute to technical design decisions What we’re looking for Strong commercial Java experienceExperience with distributed or high-throughput systemsGood knowledge of concurrency, multithreading and JVM fundamentalsExperience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Solace, IBM MQ or similarKnowledge of Docker and Kubernetes-based environmentsStrong debugging and problem-solving skillsProfessional working EnglishExperience with Oracle, MongoDB, OpenShift, Java profiling or financial systems would be beneficial but is not essential.
