Senior Java Engineer – Concurrency & Kafka Location: Poland – [Fully Remote] Contract: [B2B / employment contract] The opportunity RE Partners is hiring a Senior Java Engineer to join a major technology programme for one of the world’s leading global banks. You will help develop high-performance, business-critical platforms operating at significant scale. This is a hands-on engineering position where Java performance, concurrency, resilience, and real-time data processing genuinely matter. What you’ll do Design and develop scalable applications using JavaBuild concurrent, multithreaded and high-throughput servicesDevelop event-driven and streaming solutions using KafkaImprove system performance, resilience and maintainabilityProfile and troubleshoot JVM and production-performance issuesWork with containerised applications deployed through KubernetesContribute to architecture and technical-design decisionsCollaborate with experienced engineers across an international programme Essential experience Strong commercial experience with modern JavaIn-depth understanding of concurrency, multithreading, JVM behaviour and the Java Memory ModelExperience building distributed, event-driven or streaming applicationsHands-on experience with Kafka or another enterprise messaging platformGood understanding of algorithms, data structures and software-design principlesExperience with Kubernetes and DockerStrong problem-solving and communication skillsProfessional working proficiency in English Nice to have: Java performance profiling and production troubleshootingOracle or MongoDBOpenShift or public-cloud experienceAdditional messaging platforms such as Solace, RabbitMQ or IBM MQPrevious experience in banking, payments, FX or risk systems Why join?
