DevOps Engineer Newcastle/Leeds/Manchester £60,000 - £75,000 Active SC clearance required About the Role We're looking for a talented DevOps / Platform Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering secure, cloud-native solutions for major UK organisations. This is an excellent opportunity to work across modern cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, CI/CD tooling, and platform engineering practices while collaborating closely with software engineers, architects, and technical stakeholders. You'll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable infrastructure and deployment pipelines that support business-critical applications. This position offers exposure to a wide range of technologies, ongoing learning opportunities, and the chance to contribute to technical improvement initiatives across multiple projects. Responsibilities Build, maintain and improve cloud infrastructure platforms.Develop and optimise CI/CD pipelines to support software delivery.Automate operational and infrastructure management tasks.Implement Infrastructure as Code solutions using modern tooling.Support production environments, ensuring reliability, availability and performance.Collaborate with developers and architects to improve platform capabilities.Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment and cloud-related issues.Contribute to operational best practices, security standards and platform improvements.Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate. Requirements Active SC Clearance.Commercial experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering or Cloud Engineering role.Experience working with AWS cloud services.Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform or CloudFormation.Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.Knowledge of source control and automation tools such as GitHub and Jenkins.Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash or PowerShell.Ability to work collaboratively within Agile delivery teams.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
