Additional Information* The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Calgary, Alberta is CAD $90k - CAD$100k/year & benefits (see below). Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Java Database Developer with strong expertise in Java, SQL, Snowflake, and Data Engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing database solutions, integrating applications with Snowflake Data Cloud, and building scalable data processing systems. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain database-driven applications using Java.Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data pipelines.Build and manage ETL/ELT processes for data ingestion into Snowflake.Design and implement scalable data models, schemas, and database solutions.Develop REST APIs and backend services to interact with Snowflake and other databases.Monitor and optimize Snowflake performance, storage, and query execution.Collaborate with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and Application Development teams.Ensure data quality, security, governance, and compliance standards.Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
