About the roleSenior Product Engineer is where your influence starts to outlive the project you're on. As a Senior Product Engineer you will own a significant part of the platform across multiple projects and multiple months, you set the patterns other engineers build on inside it, and you're trusted to make calls whose consequences land long after the work has shipped. You are still hands-on. This is not a step away from the code, it's a step towards the problems where getting the code right matters most. You'll carry some of the technically hardest work, you'll be a trusted reviewer of other people's designs rather than only their code, and you'll be the person the team brings a problem to before it becomes an incident. You'll also be visible outside engineering. Senior Product Engineers are trusted alone in front of customers, with support in place for where this is a new aspect of your role, contribute to scoping and feasibility conversations, and bring problems to the roadmap rather than waiting for the roadmap to bring you work.
