Frontend / UI Engineer – React & TypeScript Location: Warsaw, PolandWorking Arrangement: Primarily onsite – 5 days/week in WarsawContract: 12-month UoP ContractPotential Duration: Extension opportunities up to 4 years, with potential for permanent conversionExperience: Mid-level to Senior / approximately 4–8 years of relevant frontend experience Role Overview We are looking for a hands-on Frontend / UI Engineer to join a global UI Engineering organisation supporting web applications and a large-scale React-based component library and design system. The team is responsible for building and maintaining reusable, production-quality UI components that are consumed across multiple applications and teams. You will work closely with designers, engineers and stakeholders to understand requirements, develop new components, maintain the existing component library and troubleshoot production issues. This is a hands-on engineering role, with React and TypeScript being the two core technical requirements. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain reusable React UI components for a shared component library.Work with designers and engineering/stakeholder teams to understand requirements and translate them into production-ready components.Maintain and enhance existing components, component APIs, theming and styling.Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve issues within the component library and related frontend tooling.Participate in a support rota, including reviewing tickets, reproducing issues, diagnosing problems and implementing fixes.Ensure components meet appropriate standards for accessibility, performance, consistency and test coverage.Collaborate with teams across Warsaw, London and New York in a globally distributed engineering environment.Contribute to improving development workflows and the overall quality of the shared UI platform.Use modern AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot where appropriate and help improve AI-driven development workflows.Essential Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience with React and modern frontend development.Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript.Proven experience developing production-grade web applications.Experience building reusable UI components and/or working with component libraries.Good understanding of frontend engineering principles, component APIs and maintainable UI architecture.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve frontend/component-library issues.Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with designers, engineers and other stakeholders.Preferred / Advantageous Experience Experience working with design systems, whether enterprise-scale or internal/smaller-scale.Experience developing and maintaining shared component libraries used by multiple applications or teams.Knowledge of CSS-in-JS, Sass or modern styling architectures.Experience with frontend testing tools such as React Testing Library and/or Cypress.Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and experience building accessible components.Experience with AI coding/development tools, such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or similar agentic coding tools.Experience with monorepo or build tooling; Bazel experience is a plus.Angular experience is useful for maintaining existing applications. AI & Modern Development The team actively uses AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code and GitHub Copilot. Experience using these tools effectively in a real development environment is a strong advantage. However, AI tooling experience is not a mandatory requirement. Strong React and TypeScript engineers with relevant component-library experience are encouraged to apply. Similarly, Bazel and previous monorepo experience are nice-to-have rather than mandatory requirements. Team & Environment You will join a globally distributed UI Engineering organisation with colleagues across Warsaw, London and New York, with the Web-focused team having its main presence in Warsaw. The role offers exposure to large-scale frontend engineering, shared design systems, reusable component development and modern AI-assisted development practices. Important Working Arrangement This role is based in Warsaw and candidates should be comfortable working primarily from the Warsaw office, generally 5 days per week, with some flexibility for one remote day.
