They handle large volumes of physical items, imagery, historical valuations and market data, and are investing heavily in technology to make their appraisal process smarter. The idea isn’t to replace human expertise with AI, but to build better tools around it. The role They’re looking for a Senior Python Engineer to work across backend engineering and applied AI. You’ll be building production software around real-world problems such as: Python services and APIsImage and product data processingComputer vision / image recognitionSimilarity search and item matchingOCR and multimodal AIAI/ML features supporting valuation and identificationTurning experiments into production-ready tools There’s plenty of greenfield work, so you’ll have real influence over what gets built and how. They’re looking for Strong commercial Python experienceFastAPI, Django, Flask or similarAPIs, backend systems and SQL databasesDocker + AWS, Azure or GCPExperience taking software from idea to productionExposure to AI/ML in real production environments Nice to have: OpenCVPyTorch / TensorFlowComputer VisionOCRImage embeddings / similarity searchHugging FaceRAG / LLM applications They’ll suit someone who is: Curious and naturally problem-solvingComfortable with open-ended technical challengesProduct-minded, not just ticket-focusedHappy working closely with domain expertsPragmatic and hands-onKeen to take real ownership Experience in AI, computer vision, robotics, IoT, e-commerce, marketplaces or product-led startups/scale-ups could translate really well.
