About FYTA FYTA is a Berlin-based nature-tech company building the intelligence layer for plants and soil. Our modular sensors already run in 40,000+ real-world installations across 9 climate zones, generating one of the richest continuous datasets on plant and soil health anywhere. On top of this data we build machine-learning models that turn raw sensor signals into reliable, context-aware care decisions — for plant lovers at home and for professional growers alike. Our technology only matters once it reaches the people using it. We're now investing heavily in the next generation of the FYTA experience - and that's where you come in. Why this role matters Our app is where everything comes together. All the sensor data, all the machine-learning models, all the plant science — none of it matters to our users until it becomes something they can see, understand, and act on. For most of our users, the FYTA app is the product. That's what you'll own. You'll shape how our customers experience their plants — turning complex data into an app that feels simple, clear, and genuinely delightful on both iOS and Android, and for our B2B customers, on their desktops. What you'll do Build and evolve the FYTA consumer app in Flutter (iOS + Android) — new features, UI, and the performance polish that makes an app feel great.Build and evolve the FYTA business app in Javascript/React Work on the connectivity layer between the app and our sensors over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) — including the native parts of our stack in Kotlin (Android) and Swift (iOS).Turn complex sensor data and ML model outputs into clear, intuitive interfaces, working closely with our designer and backend team.Care about performance, offline behavior, and reliability on real devices — in real homes and gardens, not just in the simulator.Own features end to end, from idea to shipped, and help shape where the app goes next. What we're looking for We care more about talent, curiosity, and initiative than about years on a CV. If you're a proactive builder who wants to own things, read on. Strong Flutter / Dart and Javascript/React experience - you've shipped and maintained real production apps.A solid grasp of mobile app architecture, state management, and performance.A strong commitment to code quality — whether through a TDD approach or other forms of sensible, effective test coverage.Native mobile skills (Kotlin and/or Swift) are a strong plus — genuinely a competitive advantage in your application. They're part of our stack, especially the sensor connectivity (BLE) layer. We already have someone on the team who covers this, so it's not a hard requirement but it's very welcome.A good eye for UX: you care how something feels to use, not just whether it works.A proactive, ownership mindset: you spot problems, propose solutions, and don't wait to be told what to do. In a small team, this matters more than anything else on this list.Fluent in English & generally decent communication skillsBonus: experience with BLE / IoT / hardware-connected apps. This is a hybrid role with at least three days per week on-site presence — it is not a remote position. As a team, we enjoy in-person communication and collaboration.Salary Range: € 60.000-75.000, depending on experienceEligibility: You must already be based in Germany and authorized to work here.
