Role Description Are you a Software Engineer with a few years of industry experience looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a motivated Software Engineer to join our growing Maritime team based in Tonsley. Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, you will contribute to the development, support, and enhancement of software systems that underpin critical defence and maritime capabilities. Working alongside experienced engineers, architects, and project teams, you will have the opportunity to build your technical expertise across modern technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, Spring Boot, React, and PostgreSQL, while gaining valuable experience working on complex, real-world software solutions. Core Duties Develop, maintain, and test software applications within an Agile delivery environment.Support the investigation and resolution of software incidents and enhancement requests.Work closely with senior engineers to design, implement, and improve software solutions.Participate in integration, testing, and deployment activities.Contribute to code reviews and technical discussions while continuously developing your engineering skills.Assist in the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation.Collaborate with internal teams and customer stakeholders to support project delivery.Support software releases and deployments, including occasional scheduled system checks.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices. About YOU Approximately 3-5 years of commercial software development experience.Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.Experience working with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and/or Spring Boot.Understanding of modern web application development across front-end and back-end technologies.Knowledge of software development methodologies, coding standards, and design principles.Experience writing and maintaining unit tests.Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective verbal and written communication skills.A proactive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced team membersApplicants must be Australian Citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 Security Clearance.
