Role Description The Cloud Engineer will design, implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure to support LavamTech’s software products and client solutions. This full-time, on-site role in Kathmandu involves configuring and managing cloud platforms, optimizing performance, and ensuring reliability, scalability, and security of systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with software development teams, automating deployment pipelines, monitoring system health, and troubleshooting infrastructure and application issues. The Cloud Engineer will also manage Linux servers, databases, and networking components, document technical solutions, and contribute to continuous improvement of DevOps practices. The role requires close coordination with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, efficient, and secure cloud solutions aligned with client and business needs. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kathmandu, requiring close coordination with colleagues and participation in regular reviews, stand-ups, and project planning activities. Qualifications Strong Cloud Computing and Infrastructure skills, including experience with major cloud platforms and core networking concepts.Solid Software Development skills, with proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, Bash) for automation and tooling.Hands-on Linux experience, including server administration, shell scripting, and system monitoring.Practical knowledge of Databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), including design, performance tuning, backups, and high availability.Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, containerization, orchestration, configuration management) is highly beneficial.Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices in securing cloud infrastructure and applications.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and adapt to evolving technologies and project requirements.
