Job Description ABOUT US You’ll join MTS (Managed Trading Services) — the platform behind Sportradar’s risk betting management, processing millions of bets in real time for operators around the world. Our teams own high-throughput, low-latency services: risk and liability, odds and offer, ticket validation, and the data plane that feeds them. We work in a modern cloud-native stack — Java (Spring Boot / Quarkus), Kafka / MSK, gRPC & Protobuf, AWS (EKS, ECS, DynamoDB, Aurora), ArgoCD / GitOps, Terraform, and observability on Grafana, Prometheus and OpenTelemetry. This is a great place to level up: you’ll ship real features to production quickly, learn a genuinely rich domain, and grow toward owning larger pieces of it. THE CHALLENGE Design, build, test and ship backend services and APIs that are part of a larger, real-time system — and see them through to production.Deliver in small increments. Break work into concrete, independently shippable pieces that land and get validated as you go, rather than accumulating into one big drop.Own your changes in production — help with monitoring, alerting and the occasional on-call, and learn how your services behave under real load.Write clean, well-tested, documented code, take part in code review, and help capture key decisions so the team can build on them.Learn the MTS ecosystem — how the interconnected services fit together — and grow the independence to make more calls yourself over time.Work with product managers and senior engineers to turn requirements into well-shaped, deliverable work.Use modern, AI-assisted development — we actively encourage spec-driven, agentic workflows to move faster with quality. ABOUT YOU Must-have skills 2+ years of professional experience with Java (Spring Boot, Hibernate or similar modern frameworks) or another strong OO language.Good grasp of computer science fundamentals and clean, testable code.Solid understanding of automated testing — unit, integration, and API testing (JUnit, Mockito, or similar).Comfortable with CI/CD and collaborative git workflows.AI-assisted, spec-driven development as part of your day-to-day workflow — not just autocomplete.Willingness to run what you build — going beyond writing code to owning your changes in production (deployment, monitoring, on-call).Nice-to-have skills Exposure to AWS, Kafka, Docker / Kubernetes, or relational and NoSQL databases.Familiarity with gRPC / protobuf, REST API design, or event-driven systems.Interest in IaC (Terraform), GitOps, or observability tooling.Interest in betting, trading, or other real-time / high-throughput domains.Personal traits Eager to learn — a complex domain and a modern stack, quickly.Takes ownership of their work and wants to grow toward owning features end-to-end.A collaborative teammate with good communication who asks questions and gives honest input.Pragmatic, with a bias toward shipping small and often.A positive, can-do attitude and a commitment to high professional standards.
