Site Reliability Engineer

Location: Remote First. Hiring in Europe, UK, NY, and Canada. Permanent | Full-time Compensation: £90K - £120K Our client is a fast-growing financial technology company that provides high-performance integration and hosted connectivity services to global trading venues and financial institutions. By taking on complex connectivity challenges, the client enables financial market participants to operate efficiently without overtaxing their internal resources. A Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is being sought to join a multi-disciplinary infrastructure team. This team manages a broad spectrum of technical operations—from automated server and cloud provisioning to network architecture and vendor integrations. The ideal candidate will thrive in an automation-first culture, possess a blend of system administration and network engineering expertise, and embrace shared accountability across the entire environment. Key Responsibilities: Automated Infrastructure Provisioning: Build and scale automated provisioning pipelines for servers and networks across both physical data centers and cloud environments (AWS, GCP)Continuous Delivery: Develop and evolve Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines to automate the deployment of software, server setups, and network switchesVendor & Partner Interaction: Act as a technical representative to engage with hardware vendors, telecom providers, and financial institutions via phone and emailProcurement & Support: Manage third-party procurement, negotiate vendor agreements, purchase hardware, and enable remote workforce setupsShared Technical Ownership: Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team, sharing full-environment responsibility while actively learning and sharing technical knowledge Requirements Essential Qualifications & Experience: Automation & Configuration Management: Proven hands-on experience using infrastructure automation tools such as AnsibleSoftware Development / Scripting: Functional programming abilities in a language of choice with the capacity to build usable scripts or software programs from scratchSystems & Network Engineering: Solid combined background in system administration and network engineering conceptsVendor Management: Demonstrated experience negotiating with third-party vendors, managing purchasing, and overseeing service deliveryWorkplace Attributes: High degree of autonomy, self-motivation, open-mindedness, and a continuous learning mindset Desirable / Nice-to-Have Skills: Familiarity with authentication protocols (e.g., SAML, OAuth2, Active Directory, Kerberos)Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Active DirectoryKnowledge of high-availability database architectures, clustering, and replication (e.g., PostgreSQL) Benefits Salary: Up to £120,000 per annum (commensurate with experience)Company Share OptionsComprehensive Benefits PackageFlexible, Remote-First Working EnvironmentInterview ProcessRecruiter / HR Screening Call: Initial introductory conversationHiring Manager Interview: Domain-focused technical discussion (1 hour)Technical Assessment: In-depth technical interview including a practical/coding exercise (2-3 hours)Leadership Interview: Final conversation with the founding team Due to the high volume of applications we anticipate, we regret that we are unable to provide individual feedback to all candidates.
