Senior Software Engineer (CMS)

CORE PROFILE Backend-focused software engineer with strong experience in designing, implementing, and operating software systems in production.Strong problem-solving and solution-building skills, with the ability to break down complex requirements into practical technical solutions that can be delivered end to end.Strong experience in Java, specifically using the Spring Boot framework.Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native application development.5-7+ years of software development experience, or equivalent demonstrated capability in independently delivering production-grade backend systems.Has a collaborative and solution-first attitude towards solving problems.Comfortable working with both new and legacy systems.Experience with microservices and distributed systems is strongly desired. NATURE OF WORK Design and build backend services and solutions that support product and platform capabilities.Independently lead medium-to-large software engineering projects from requirements clarification, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.Develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot services that are reliable, scalable, secure, and maintainable.Build cloud-ready solutions using AWS services and established engineering standards.Navigate technical dependencies with other engineering teams, product owners, quality engineers, SRE, and other stakeholders.Improve existing systems through refactoring, automation, observability, and operational improvements. DISPLAYED SKILL MASTERY Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.Proficient in Java, Object-Oriented Programming, and Spring Boot framework.Familiar with AWS services used for application hosting, storage, messaging, monitoring, and deployment.Able to independently design software solutions with long-term maintainability in mind.Produces reusable, efficient, testable, and adaptable code.Able to lead execution of a technical design into a concrete, production-ready implementation.Able to identify technical risks, trade-offs, and dependencies early.Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve technical and product concerns.Shares knowledge with other engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.5-7+ years software development experience, or equivalent demonstrated capability.Solid experience in Java and Object-Oriented programming and design.Specific experience with Spring Boot framework.Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.Experience with AWS services and cloud-based application development.Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and production troubleshooting.Experience with Microservices is a plus.Experience with distributed systems is a plus.Experience with Kubernetes or containerized deployments is a plus.
