About The Role We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) to join our dynamic team at Mittwald. In this role, you will be integral to the ongoing development and enhancement of our Kubernetes-based hosting platform. Your primary focus will be on designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust infrastructure that ensures our web hosting products operate seamlessly and efficiently. You will work closely with other DevOps professionals and cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions, automate processes, and improve system stability and performance. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technologies such as Go, Linux, Helm, and Prometheus, and to contribute to a platform used by a diverse range of clients including developers and agencies. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in system administration, cloud infrastructure, and container orchestration. Hands-on experience with Linux server environments, Docker, Kubernetes, and related tools is essential. You should have a passion for automation, scripting, and continuous improvement. Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Opsgenie is highly desirable. A proactive mindset, curiosity for new technologies, and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues are key. Prior experience with open-source projects or working in a DevOps environment will be advantageous. Basic knowledge of programming languages like Go or Python is a plus. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain the infrastructure of our web hosting environment, ensuring high availability and performance.Enhance and optimize our Kubernetes-based platform, implementing new features and scaling solutions as needed.Develop and deploy Kubernetes operators and manage bare-metal deployments to support diverse use cases.Monitor the health and performance of Kubernetes clusters using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Opsgenie to prevent and resolve issues proactively.Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing to foster a collaborative team environment.Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in open-source technologies and incorporate innovative solutions into our platform.Collaborate with development teams and other stakeholders to ensure infrastructure aligns with business and technical requirements.
