About Qatar Stock Exchange Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) is the principal securities market of the State of Qatar. Job Summary The Application Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing QSE's enterprise applications and their underlying databases, with a focus on Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development. The role translates trading-related business requirements into reliable data structures, calculations and system logic, and supports integrations and data interfaces between enterprise applications. It includes validating calculation logic, identifying gaps or inconsistencies, and clarifying requirements with business users, as well as investigating production issues and supporting end users. The position requires strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, sufficient capital markets knowledge to interpret trading concepts and business metrics, and the ability to work independently with both business and technical teams. Roles And Responsibilities Develop, maintain and enhance enterprise applications and their underlying database structuresWrite, troubleshoot and optimize complex SQL and PL/SQL queries, and support database administration activitiesTranslate business concepts, rules and metrics into data requirements and system logicValidate business requirements and calculation logic, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and clarify or challenge assumptions with business users where requiredAnalyze existing applications, code and database structures with limited guidance in order to troubleshoot issues and implement enhancementsDevelop and support integrations and data interfaces between enterprise applicationsInvestigate production issues, implement application changes and provide support to end usersTroubleshoot application, database, integration and data-related issuesWork independently while collaborating effectively with business and technical teams Requirements Minimum seven years developing and supporting enterprise applications, with substantial hands-on database developmentStrong Oracle development tools, SQL, PL/SQL and database administration, including optimizing complex queriesSolid grounding in relational databases, data structures and data modellingUnderstanding of capital markets and trading concepts, with the ability to translate business rules and metrics into data requirements and system logicExperience building and supporting integrations and data interfaces between enterprise applicationsAbility to analyze existing applications and code with limited guidance, investigate production issues and support end usersAble to work independently and collaborate with business and technical teamsExperience at a stock exchange, brokerage, trading platform or market-data provider is an advantage, as is exposure to FIX messaging, high-volume market-data environments or Oracle APEX
