About The Role We are seeking a skilled Java Developer (m/w/d) to join our Core Systems team in Dortmund. This is a permanent, full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and enhancement of our in-house software solutions. The role provides the flexibility of working up to 80% remotely, enabling a healthy work-life balance. As a key member of our development team, you will work on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and robust services that support our operational infrastructure. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you should possess a relevant educational background, such as a degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification. You should have several years of professional experience in Java development, with a strong understanding of SQL databases. Proficiency in German language is essential for effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with Delphi and Object Pascal is advantageous but not mandatory. We value candidates who demonstrate a passion for continuous learning, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Responsibilities Collaborate within an agile team of approximately 15 developers to enhance and maintain our in-house software solutions, ensuring alignment with technical standards and best practices.Participate actively in the ongoing development of our software architecture by contributing ideas and feedback to improve processes, standards, and tools.Analyze requirements and translate them into clean, efficient, and maintainable Java-based services, with an emphasis on scalability and future-proofing.Engage in refactoring efforts of our existing ERP system to optimize performance, reliability, and integration capabilities.Implement modern architectural patterns, leveraging Java technologies and established development models to create seamless system integrations.Conduct code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables and maintainability of the software products.Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development practices and technical solutions.
