The opportunity We're growing our Broking Operations team and looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join us and support the ongoing development of Howden Bridge, our online quote-and-bind platform. This is a great opportunity to build your software engineering career while working on real digital insurance products used by our business and clients. This role will develop and maintain functionality across Howden Bridge and related applications, working closely with experienced engineers as you grow your technical capability. Responsibilities will include: Developing and maintaining functionality across Howden Bridge and related applications.Assisting with new online insurance products, enhancements, integrations and workflows.Investigating and resolving application defects and technical issues.Participating in testing, debugging and release activities.Working from business and technical requirements to develop practical solutions.Helping maintain code quality, documentation and development standards.Working closely with experienced engineers, Solutions and Architecture teams and continuing to develop your technical capability. Let’s talk about you We'd love to hear from you if you: Have experience in software development through employment, study, internships or relevant projects.Have a good understanding of software development fundamentals.Have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Have a genuine interest in learning and developing your technical skills.Have good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.Have exposure to web development, APIs, databases or cloud technologies – advantageous but not essential.
