Specifically, this role is centered around Post Trade Accounting (PTA), a critical strategic area within BlackRock’s Aladdin platform. PTA ensures accurate, scalable, and efficient accounting processes across global markets. As part of this team, you will contribute to expanding data analytics and pipeline initiatives, utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as Snowflake, Redis, and distributed event streaming platforms. Collaborating closely with product managers, operations teams, and fellow engineers, you will develop business-critical capabilities that enhance operational efficiency and data integrity. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, with a minimum of four years of professional experience in Java development and object-oriented design. Proficiency in Spring Boot, REST API development, and enterprise integration patterns is essential. Deep expertise in SQL Server, including performance tuning, stored procedures, and data modeling, is required. Hands-on experience with Redis for caching or data persistence is highly desirable. Familiarity with distributed event streaming and messaging platforms, such as Kafka or similar publish-subscribe systems, is crucial for real-time event processing. Knowledge of Snowflake data warehousing, ETL processes, and data pipeline architecture (batch and streaming) will be advantageous. Experience with front-end technologies like Angular or React, along with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, is preferred but not mandatory. Additional familiarity with AI-assisted coding, prompt engineering, and agentic AI concepts will be considered a plus. Candidates should demonstrate a strong focus on clean architecture, maintainability, and production readiness, coupled with excellent communication skills. Responsibilities Design and implement robust, high-performance backend systems leveraging Java 11+ and the Spring Boot framework to meet the demands of global financial operations. Participate actively in design discussions, code reviews, and architecture sessions, providing technical expertise and hands-on contributions. Develop and maintain microservices and event-driven architectures that facilitate processing and distribution of large-scale financial data in real-time. Build data integration components connecting various systems, including Snowflake, SQL Server, and streaming platforms, ensuring seamless data flow and integrity. Optimize Redis-based caching solutions to support low-latency access patterns critical for financial applications. When necessary, contribute to frontend development by implementing lightweight UI updates, utilizing AI-assisted coding tools and collaborating with front-end teams. Promote best practices in code quality, automated testing, continuous integration, and performance tuning to ensure reliable and scalable solutions. Elevate the team’s technical craftsmanship by sharing knowledge, problem-solving, and fostering innovative design thinking. Collaborate cross-functionally with product, operations, and engineering teams to align technical solutions with business objectives, ensuring that deliverables meet strategic goals and compliance standards.
