As they continue to modernise their managed services and SaaS offerings, they're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help design and build the next generation of Kubernetes-native platform automation. About the Role The Role As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in developing production-grade software that automates the provisioning, management, scaling, and operation of Kubernetes-based platforms. Working closely with Platform Architects, SREs, DevOps Engineers, and Cloud Engineering teams, you'll design and develop robust software solutions that improve reliability, reduce operational risk, and drive platform innovation. This is a hands-on engineering role combining software development and cloud engineering, with a strong focus on Go, Kubernetes, Terraform, and automation. Responsibilities Design, build and maintain Kubernetes Operators, Controllers and Custom Resources using GoDevelop automation for platform provisioning, upgrades, recovery, scaling and operational workflowsCreate high-quality, testable, and maintainable software following modern engineering best practicesDevelop CI/CD pipelines and improve software delivery processesWork extensively with Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm and GitOps toolingDesign reliable and resilient distributed systems capable of managing complex workloadsImprove platform security, reliability, observability and operational readinessCollaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable cloud-native solutionsParticipate in architecture discussions and technical design reviewsMentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards and best practices Required Skills Strong commercial experience developing software in Go (Golang)Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologiesExperience developing Kubernetes Operators, Controllers, CRDs or platform automation toolingStrong understanding of Kubernetes APIs, reconciliation loops and controller patternsCommercial experience with TerraformKnowledge of DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE or Infrastructure Automation practicesExperience working in Agile software development environmentsStrong understanding of distributed systems and software design principlesExperience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testingExcellent Linux, containerisation and troubleshooting skillsStrong communication and stakeholder management skills Preferred Skills Operator SDK, Kubebuilder, controller-runtime or client-goHelm, ArgoCD, Flux or GitOps methodologiesAWS, Azure or GCP experiencePrometheus, Grafana, Loki or similar observability toolsService Mesh technologies such as Istio, Linkerd or CiliumSecurity-focused Kubernetes engineeringExperience working within highly regulated environments Pay range and compensation package Remote / Hybrid | Competitive Salary + Benefits If you're passionate about building cloud-native software, developing Kubernetes automation, and solving complex engineering challenges at scale, we'd love to hear from you.
