Title And Summary Agentic AI - Senior Software Engineer Our Purpose Mastercard powers economies and empowers people in 200+ countries and territories worldwide. Together with our customers, we’re helping build a sustainable economy where everyone can prosper. We support a wide range of digital payments choices, making transactions secure, simple, smart and accessible. Our technology and innovation, partnerships and networks combine to deliver a unique set of products and services that help people, businesses and governments realize their greatest potential. Overview Mastercard Foundry R&D is looking for a Senior AI Product Builder to join the Agentic AI Engineering team. This is a hands-on role for someone who cares deeply about how things look, feel and work, and who wants to apply Generative and Agentic AI to real products. You'll take a product opportunity and turn it into a working, high-fidelity experience that people want to use, test it with real users, and carry it towards production. Along the way you'll help build the tooling, services and reusable patterns that let teams across Mastercard experiment with, validate and scale AI-enabled solutions. You'll design and build in the same motion, using modern web technologies and AI agents to get from idea to something clickable in days. The quality bar is high. We want the kind of work people screenshot and send to a colleague. You'll work within a pod where a product lead sets the outcome and direction. You'll own the experience within it. Role Own the end-to-end experience for a defined product scope: user flows, interaction design, visual quality and the working build. Design and build AI-enabled applications, agentic workflows and developer-facing capabilities, from concept through validation. Build working, high-fidelity prototypes using modern front-end technologies and AI-assisted development tools. Real enough to test, clean enough to hand over. Sweat the details. States, transitions, empty screens, error handling, loading, responsive behaviour and accessibility all get the same care as the happy path. That includes the AI-specific ones: streaming, latency, uncertainty, and what the user sees when an agent gets it wrong. Use Mastercard's design system to assemble accessible, coherent experiences, and partner with CX to propose new patterns when the system doesn't cover the need. Direct AI agents across design exploration, prototyping, testing and documentation. Give them the context, constraints and evaluation criteria they need to produce dependable work. Evaluate models, frameworks and tools across quality, cost, latency, reliability and maintainability, and be clear about what you're trading. Run and take part in user testing, synthesise the evidence and recommend what to change, stop or carry forward. Develop reusable components, patterns, services, agents and skills for Foundry's shared catalogue so other teams can start from proven work. Improve developer experience through automation, AI-assisted workflows and platform thinking. Partner with product, CX, engineering and business stakeholders to turn ideas into working solutions, and communicate decisions, risks and results clearly. Share learnings, prototypes and best practices across the organisation. All About You You bring a demonstrated combination of product judgment, experience design, and hands-on engineering. You can frame the right problem, design a coherent response, and build enough of it to test with users. You have led digital products from an ambiguous opportunity to a working product, with evidence of the customer or business outcome achieved. You have a strong front-end engineering foundation and can independently build realistic prototypes using modern web technologies such as JavaScript or TypeScript and React or a comparable framework. You use AI coding tools or agents as part of your daily work and understand how context, tools, constraints, and evaluation affect the quality of their output. You apply product judgment as well as technical skill. You can identify the important customer problem, set priorities, define success, and say no to work that does not support the outcome. You understand interaction design, design systems, content, responsive behavior, and accessibility well enough to create a coherent experience and recognize when a specialist is needed. You can assess technical feasibility and discuss APIs, data flows, system constraints, testing, and delivery trade-offs with engineers and architects. You are comfortable testing unfinished work with users, learning from evidence, and changing direction quickly. You lead through influence across product, CX, engineering, architecture, security, quality, and business operations. You communicate complex product and technical decisions clearly to both senior leaders and delivery teams. You bring structure to ambiguity, exercise sound judgment, and remain accountable for the outcome. You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Design, Product Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Show Us Your Work We'd love to see what you've built. Bring along a few things you're proud of: products, prototypes, side projects, anything where you designed and built the experience yourself. Bonus points if there's an LLM or an agent under the hood. Working links are great, screenshots are fine, and a walkthrough on a call works too. We'll Want To Chat About The problem you were solving and the choices you made along the way. The flows and interactions you shaped, and how they changed once real people used them. The details you cared about, whether that's motion, states, responsiveness or accessibility. What you built yourself, and how AI tools or agents fitted into your process. Which bits were yours within the wider team's work. Preferred Experience Experience building AI-enabled or agentic products and defining evaluation methods for model or agent behavior. Experience working in payments, commerce, financial services, or another regulated technology environment.
