What You Will Contribute The Full-Stack Software Engineer provides support for cloud platform development and maintenance with regular oversight and mentorship. This includes performing testing and validation, assisting with system implementations, and participating in agile development teams focused on Badger Meter cloud-based software platforms. Essential Job Duties Development & Implementation Design, develop and test software components for Badger Meter cloud-based software platformsWrite clean, maintainable code following established patterns and best practicesAssist with front-end and back-end development of user-facing systemsSupport systems connected to deployed IoT hardwareDebug applications and resolve defects under guidance of senior team membersParticipate in code reviews to maintain quality standards Cloud Platform Support Assist with maintaining and improving cloud infrastructure servicesSupport deployment pipelines and containerised applicationsHelp troubleshoot customer issues related to platform functionalityDocument technical implementations and procedures Collaboration & Learning Actively participate in agile ceremonies and sprint planningCollaborate with senior engineers to understand system architectureLearn and develop expertise in product domain knowledgeContribute ideas and feedback during technical discussionsSupport customer success and field technician teams with technical queries Qualifications Essential Requirements 3+ years of software development experience and relevant educationProficiency in JavaScript/Node.js fundamentalsProficiency in REACTProficiency in PythonUnderstanding of version control systems (Git/GitHub)Proficient knowledge of cloud computing conceptsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsEffective written and verbal communicationAbility to work independently with appropriate guidance Preferred Experience Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fieldFamiliarity with AWS services (Lambda, S3, EC2)Knowledge of containerisation (Docker)Understanding of CI/CD principlesExperience with Elastic Stack (ELK), PostgreSQL or MySQL databasesKnowledge of Java or PHP What to Expect in This Role Learning cloud platform architecture and product requirementsGaining expertise in IoT data processing and real-time monitoringUnderstanding DevOps practices and infrastructure as codeBuilding knowledge of multiple programming languages and toolsDeveloping skills in both independent work and team collaboration Competencies Collaboration: Work collaboratively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectivesCommunication: Convey information and ideas clearly and concisely to individuals or groups in an engaging manner that helps them understand and retain the message; listen actively to othersInitiating Action: Take prompt action to accomplish work goals; take action to achieve results beyond what is required; be proactiveWork Standards: Setting high standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed.
