Drupal Developer – Web Applications & Public Sector Projects

We’re hiring a full-time Drupal Developer to join our team and support a project with a Government of Canada client. You’ll help modernize Drupal applications, working alongside designers, researchers, and client teams to create accessible, reliable, and maintainable digital experiences. We’re looking for someone with hands-on Drupal development expertise, Canadian public sector experience, and the curiosity to understand the problems behind the technical requirements. What you’ll do Develop, maintain, and modernize Drupal websites and web applications.Build and configure custom modules, themes, content structures, and reusable components.Translate UX/UI designs into responsive, accessible interfaces, collaborating with designers on implementation details.Integrate Drupal with APIs, external services, and other systems.Deliver solutions that meet applicable Government of Canada accessibility, security, and digital standards.Troubleshoot issues and improve application performance, reliability, and usability.Contribute to testing, code reviews, documentation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.Explain technical options and trade-offs, helping colleagues and clients make informed decisions.Participate in delivery planning and share knowledge with the wider team. What you bring Demonstrated experience delivering Drupal websites or applications, with clear examples of your responsibilities and technical contributions.Experience delivering digital projects for Canadian public sector organizations, either directly or through a consulting or delivery partner.Proficiency in PHP, Twig, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.Experience with Drupal configuration, custom modules and themes, and integrations.Practical experience implementing accessible interfaces and applying WCAG requirements.Experience translating design specifications into working digital solutions.Familiarity with Git, collaborative development workflows, and testing practices.The ability to communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical colleagues.Ownership of your work, sound judgment, and openness to feedback. Eligibility and project requirements You must be legally authorized to work in Canada.You must be able to obtain and maintain the Government of Canada personnel security status or clearance required for the assignment.You must be willing and able to complete security screening and provide the identity documents, verifiable background information, and supporting documentation required.Assignment to the client project is conditional on the required security screening and client onboarding approvals.You must be able to substantiate your relevant project experience through descriptions of your work, project dates, and professional references. An existing Government of Canada Reliability Status or security clearance is an asset. Please indicate the level you currently hold, if applicable. Additional assets Experience delivering projects for federal government departments or agencies.Experience implementing the Government of Canada Design System (GCDS).Experience working with reusable components, design tokens, and component variants.Experience with Drupal upgrades, migrations, and enterprise application modernization.Experience collaborating with UX teams using Figma or equivalent tools.French-language proficiency.
