SUMMARY 💰 120 - 140 PLN/h on B2B 💰 14 400 - 16 800 PLN gross on UoP 📍 Kraków (Hybrid - 2 days in the office / 3 days remote) 💼 Senior PROJECT Join the Next Generation System Management (NGSM) team developing a modern network management platform for mission-critical radio systems. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design and develop scalable backend services and microservices, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure high performance, reliability, and maintainability of distributed systems. You will work in an experienced engineering team where technical discussions, clean code, modern technologies, and continuous improvement are an important part of everyday work. YOU WILL Design, develop, and maintain backend services and microservices using Java 21+ and SpringContribute to architecture and technical design decisions for distributed systemsBuild and orchestrate microservices running in Kubernetes and cloud environmentsDevelop event-driven solutions using Kafka and Azure Event HubsDesign, manage, and optimise PostgreSQL databasesImprove application performance, scalability, reliability, and resource utilisationTroubleshoot complex backend, networking, performance, and orchestration issuesWork with Azure, Kubernetes, Linux, Git, and GitHubUse GitHub Copilot and Google Gemini as part of the daily software development workflowMaintain high standards of clean code, testing, and software engineering practicesParticipate in technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural improvementsCollaborate with other engineers in an Agile environment MUST HAVE Strong commercial experience with Java, preferably Java 21+Very good knowledge of Spring / Spring BootStrong understanding of OOP, clean code, and software engineering principlesExperience designing and developing microservices and distributed systemsExperience with KubernetesExperience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft AzureHands-on experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka and/or Azure Event HubsStrong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including database design and optimisationExperience with performance tuning and optimisation of backend servicesGood knowledge of Git and GitHubPractical knowledge of Linux and scripting/automationUnderstanding of networking fundamentals, including protocols, routing, and network servicesExperience using generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or Google Gemini in software developmentVery good troubleshooting and analytical skillsEnglish allowing effective communication in an international engineering environment NICE TO HAVE Experience working with mission-critical or high-availability systemsHands-on experience with lab environments, including system configuration, installations, upgrades, and manual testingExperience working as an external contractor or consultant within Agile engineering teamsExperience creating and maintaining technical and architectural documentationExperience mentoring engineers and driving technical discussionsKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesAbility to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing technical requirements OUR OFFER The relocation package (4500 PLN total value) is paid in three installments (1500 PLN per month) if your permanent office presence is mandatory and you need to relocate from another city.Benefits: Extended medical care (over 2000 medical facilities in Poland, 80 in Kraków) for you and your family; Multisport card; Life insurance
