Your focus will be on designing and delivering enterprise-scale software with an emphasis on reliability, performance, and clean coding practices. The specific focus of this role is within the Post Trade Accounting (PTA) team, a strategic area within BlackRock's Aladdin platform. PTA is responsible for ensuring accurate, scalable, and efficient accounting processes across global operations. The team is expanding into data analytics and pipeline initiatives, utilizing Snowflake, Redis, and distributed event streaming platforms to handle high-volume, real-time data. Collaborating closely with product, operations, and other engineering teams, the successful candidate will contribute to delivering critical business capabilities within an agile and collaborative environment that values technical depth, quality, and innovation. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, along with at least four years of professional experience in Java development and object-oriented design. Strong expertise in Spring Boot, REST API development, and enterprise integration patterns is essential. Proficiency in SQL Server, including stored procedures, performance tuning, and data modeling, is required. Experience with Redis for caching or data persistence, as well as hands-on knowledge of distributed event streaming and messaging platforms, is highly desirable. Familiarity with Snowflake, data pipeline concepts such as ETL, and real-time streaming technologies will be advantageous. Additionally, experience with front-end technologies like Angular or React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and HTML/CSS is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a strong focus on clean architecture, maintainability, and production readiness, along with excellent communication skills. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems using Java 11+ and the Spring Boot ecosystem, ensuring robustness and scalability. Participate actively in design discussions, code reviews, and architecture sessions, contributing technical expertise and innovative ideas. Build and support microservices and event-driven architectures to process and distribute large-scale financial data efficiently. Develop data integration components connecting Snowflake, SQL Server, and real-time streaming platforms, facilitating seamless data flow across systems. Implement and optimize Redis-based caching solutions to achieve low-latency data access. When necessary, contribute to frontend updates, leveraging AI-assisted coding tools and collaborating with front-end team members to deliver cohesive solutions. Promote best practices in code quality, testing, automation, and performance tuning to ensure reliable and maintainable software. Elevate the team’s technical craftsmanship by sharing knowledge, problem-solving, and applying design thinking principles. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives and product strategies, ensuring timely delivery of high-impact features and enhancements.
