Senior Software Engineer Signal & Image Processing (m/f/d)

Job Description Summary At Colibrium Additive, a GE Aerospace company, we work every day to bring the transformative power of additive manufacturing to businesses around the globe. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Signal & Image Processing) to join our team in Lichtenfels, Germany. In this role, you will design, build, deliver, and maintain software and sensor applications that are part of our additive manufacturing machines. Your main focus will be on process monitoring solutions for laser-based additive machines, contributing to print documentation, anomaly detection, and process stabilization. This is a great opportunity for someone who combines strong software engineering skills with deep expertise in camera systems, imaging, and signal processing. This role is based in Lichtenfels, Germany and we offer a hybrid working model with up to two home-office days per week. Job Description What you’ll do Design and implement complex software features and systems for additive manufacturing applicationsDevelop and maintain software using .NET, Python, and Node.jsDrive solutions related to camera integration, imaging, frame grabbers, data transfer, image normalization, calibration, and resolutionContribute to architecture decisions, coding standards, and engineering best practicesSupport hardware selection and performance evaluation to ensure system requirements are metCollaborate with product managers, hardware teams, manufacturing, and additive engineering teamsParticipate in code reviews, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectivesImprove codebase quality, tooling, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and monitoringSupport root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issuesEnsure compliance with quality, safety, cybersecurity, export control, and data protection requirementsProvide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another STEM fieldSeveral years of professional experience in software engineering or a comparable technical roleStrong experience in product developmentGood understanding of SDLC, Lean/Agile, CI/CD, software security, scalability, and testing practicesExperience in signal processing, image processing, camera systems, or machine visionFluent German and EnglishStrong communication skills and a collaborative mindset Nice to have Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or additive / 3D printing environmentsFamiliarity with data acquisition, machine control, industrial protocols, or hardware integrationExperience with Docker or other containerization technologiesKnowledge of secure coding, identity and access management, and enterprise compliance requirements What We Offer ✈️ GE Aerospace supports and encourages flexible working arrangements, where possible, and recognizes the benefits to employees of having a positive work-life balance.
